Can Artificial Intelligence Replace Lawyers?

Wuhan is a relevant commercial location for international buyers sourcing from China. Wuhan is a major industrial center with substantial automotive, machinery, electronics and equipment manufacturing activity. A dispute involving a supplier in this market should be considered in light of both the contractual relationship and the practical characteristics of the local supply chain.

Can artificial intelligence replace lawyers?  I often use AI platforms, primarily ChatGPT and DeepSeeker. I believe AI cannot replace lawyers. First, the output of AI platforms depends on accurately inputting questions, but many clients, without the help of a lawyer, don’t even know what questions to ask. Second, in a lawsuit, there may be dozens or even hundreds of legal issues. Only by asking every legal question precisely can AI achieve results close to those of a lawyer. Moreover, it requires human judgment to determine whether these answers are suitable for your case. Such tasks are generally beyond the capabilities of ordinary clients. Finally, a lawyer’s work is not limited to text-based tasks. For example, tasks like investigation and evidence collection must be done by humans. AI platforms are unable to perform such work. I am Attorney Lyu Qiang from China. If you have any Chinese legal issues, feel free to contact me.

Local Supply Chain Risks in Wuhan

International buyers dealing with Wuhan companies may be sourcing products or services connected with automotive, machinery, electronics and industrial equipment. Typical issues may include equipment quality disputes, delivery disputes, OEM disputes, warranty claims and payment disputes. For machinery, automotive, electronics and equipment transactions, buyers should pay particular attention to technical specifications, acceptance criteria, warranty terms, delivery milestones and the entity responsible for performance.

Wuhan is located in Hubei and is supported by a diversified industrial base and extensive supply chains serving central China. For cross-border transactions, this background can be useful when assessing supplier verification, contract enforcement and dispute-resolution options.

Resolving a Supplier Dispute in Wuhan

Where a commercial dispute has developed, an overseas buyer should avoid relying solely on informal communications. Reviewing the contract, identifying the correct legal entity, preserving documentary evidence and assessing the available dispute-resolution mechanism are usually important before deciding how to proceed.

The appropriate legal strategy depends on the specific transaction, the supplier’s conduct, the evidence available and the applicable legal framework.
